Wealth Management Services - Georgia VS Kentucky IMG

GEORGIA 34 VS. KENTUCKY 17

The Dawgs had a dominant win over the #9 Wildcats in Lexington that sent home some dejected fans all over the Bluegrass State. The win established Georgia as the best team in the East for the second year in a row, and we now get to play in Atlanta on December 1 for the SEC Championship. This team has a lot to be proud of this year, and I am close to calling this season a major success. I say every year if we beat Georgia Tech and are 1-12 the season is a success. I am sure no other Dawg feels the same, but I am one of the biggest Tech haters in the universe. So, congratulations to this team and coach staff for a job well done so far this season. The win over a very good Kentucky team was our best-played game of the year.

Wealth Management Services - East Champs IMG

Champions or “Champs” has a nice ring to it if you ask me. I have not heard that in reference to myself or many of the teams I was a member of in the past. So, I take pleasure in my team, the Georgia Bulldogs, being the best team on our side of the SEC. We were better than six other good teams who also wanted to be champions, but they were beaten down by my team this year. I did not realize how good we had it from 1980 to 1982 because I never knew anything different. The Dawgs were the best every year. Along, I mean long, dry spell has made me appreciate when we are champs now, and I hope we can continue the run for a long time. My son, Gunner, is now very much a Dawg fan that is also enjoying our good run after some long seasons. He understands how much this means to the fans and his dad.  It has meant the world to me to have him involved and excited this year and last year like I was with my dad.

Wealth Management Services - Dawgs Offensive Line IMG

Andrew Thomas, Soloman Kindley, Lamont Gallard, Cade Mays, Isaiah Wilson, Kendall Baker, and Trey Hill all played great games on the Dawgs offensive line. These guys are big and strong which helped open huge holes for Swift and Holyfield to run through all day.  These big uglies” as they are sometimes called do the grunt work in the trenches that often goes unnoticed by some fans. However, I am sure most get tired of hearing it, but it is true, that games are won and lost on the lines of scrimmage. We shut down the much-heralded Wildcats defense that was supposed to whip us all day long.  D’Andre Swift looked like a thoroughbred horse galloping down the field for an 83-yard touchdown. The job on the line done by our guys to make the run possible was also a thing of beauty. The fact that we had two true Freshman playing made the days work even more impressive. If the offensive line can continue to push teams around, we can end the regular season with an 11-1 record for sure.

P.S. I purposely did not write about another failure on third and goal. Made me mad and it looked for sure like Kirby was mad.

D’Andre Swift!

16 carries 156 yards 9.8 AVG and 2 Touchdowns!

Wealth Management Services - Monty Rice IMG 1

Sophomore linebacker Monty Rice has been a tackling machine the last two games. Against Florida, he had a career-high 11 tackles, and he followed that up this week with 9 tackles while helping hold Benny Snell to 73 yards rushing. The Alabama native has made a name for himself this year after and is the second leading tackler for the season. We continue to have players stepping up and getting better every week.

Wealth Management Services - UGA vs Auburn IMG

The Dawgs have Auburn coming to Athens for another heated rivalry game this Saturday. The Tigers are another team I don’t like at all. They have wrecked several seasons for us after humbling loses. They also seem to be the luckiest team we play all season, and the ball seems to bounce their way at the end of games. I feel good about winning this game because the atmosphere at night will be electric. The way they beat at home last year still stings, and we better return the favor! I say run it up and leave no doubt!

Dawgs win big!

UGA V did not like Auburn either!
